And why do you need one in your life?

Whether your horse is a seasoned athlete, a young aspirational performer or your favorite companion, you love your horse and want only the best for him or her. That’s why you should develop a relationship with an experienced Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner.

Dr. Courtney Iverson is our lead veterinarian here at Iverson Equine, and she’s loved riding and showing horses since childhood. She channeled that love of horses into a career as a Veterinarian with a speciality in equine rehabilitation after having an early experience of nursing her horse through an injury. Today she leads our experienced team of equine rehabilitation specialists, bringing a wealth of knowledge to every patient. A graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine with a focus on equine medicine, Dr. Iverson went on to complete a rotating internship through the hospital and ambulatory setting at Fairfield Equine Associates with a special interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation. She is also a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CERP).

At Iverson Equine, Dr. Iverson provides a full range of equine prehabilitation and rehabilitation services — all delivered with compassionate care for each horse and his or her special needs. We want to help your horse to lead a healthier, fuller life and we want to give you peace of mind, knowing that we are looking out for your horse’s health and comfort. For starters, we work together with you to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your horse’s specific needs. Preventive care is key to identifying possible performance issues, while rehabilitation services will help to mitigate or even shift behaviors before more concerning issues occur. Prehab and rehab services are meant to help with mobility, strength and core composition to get your horse on track for a healthier and more comfortable life and improved performance.

Our rehabilitation services include:

  • Initial exam to identify weaknesses or gait abnormalities
  • Core conditioning
  • Class IV laser therapy
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Stability pad training
  • Sensory track
  • Lunging and conditioning using either Pro-six wraps or Pessoa lunging systems
  • Treadmill exercises
  • Regenerative therapies
  • TheraPlate vibration sessions

Iverson Equine isn’t only an equine rehabilitation facility, we are also here for annual wellness exams, yearly vaccines, dental care, lameness exams, post-surgical care, and pre-purchase exams to help you make informed decisions when purchasing a new horse. So whether you want to help your horse perform better, or your horse is recovering from surgery, injury or illness, our team is here to help. Schedule a consultation today!
